Appreciating The Sport Of Mud Boggin

Mud boggin as a growing sport (known more properly as “mud bogging”) in parts of the country is an increasingly-popular phenomenon. Basically, it involves taking a seriously fortified and jacked up 4×4 truck and running it through very deep and muddy trenches or bogs in competition against other drivers and trucks. The winners are those who have the fastest times and haven’t gotten stuck in the mud.

For fact, people living in the country have to find their entertainment where they can in many cases and the thought of strengthening a 4×4 truck and engine to the point where it can make its way through a very deep bog or trench can be quite a lot of fun. These trucks aren’t exactly like the typical SUV, though. In fact, they — are at most — just country cousins to in demeanor to an SUV.

For the most part, a mud bogging truck is one that has a very strong engine — sometimes to the point where it is extremely tight and has been modified extensively — and an undercarriage that has been lifted up to sometimes serious heights. Many of these trucks might even need a small step ladder in order to climb up into their cabs.

As far as relating to the sport itself, imagine a driver of a big 4×4 truck slamming the vehicle into a trench of up to half a mile in length (1/8 to 1/4 mile is more common) and then powering it down the length of the trench as quickly as possible. This takes a serious amount of driving skill and the truck itself is usually of very good quality, which is needed to avoid becoming stuck in the deep mud.

If the truck and the driver do, in fact, get stuck the contest or heat is over for that driver and his or her truck. Winners are determined by how quickly they can get into and out of the trench, making their way down the length of it and emerging from the other end. There may be obstacles within the trench and it can make for a quite entertaining site for those standing along the edges of the trench.

When it comes to this ever-growing sport known colloquially as mud boggin, it’s important to realize that driver skill and quality of truck is paramount. Make sure any truck to be used in the sport has a very strong engine as well as a good four-wheel drive system and that the truck itself has been lift-kitted such that its very large tires and wheels can get it into and out of the trench quickly.

It is not as big as football, but mud boggin has its place in American sporting. Whether it is the thrill of the throttle or the slew of mud being hurled through the air from churning tires, something keeps people excited about mud boggin .

Mud Bogging Or Mud Drags

Mud drags is a popular motor sport which is played in the mud. This sport is very popular in places like the United States and Canada. Here a huge number of people participate every year in this sport. The wildness and its huge energy make this sport really interesting and popular.

The basic requirement for this sport is the famous big and huge cars. In this game if you are willing to participate then you must have a big truck, which can handle the pressure of the mud. Modern light cars are not suited for the muddy surface. So if you have a big gigantic trucks then what are you waiting for? Go and experience the madness!

In this race you will be given a particular length, rather a particular destination. Basically what you have to do is just complete the track as fast as possible. If you can complete the track taking the minimum time then you will be called the winner of the mud drags. So if you are in this game you have to drive madly to be a winner.

In case if all the cars are unable to reach their destination, then the vehicle that covers the maximum destination will be declared the winner. Here in this situation only the distance is calculated, not the time.

If you go back to the history of this sport then you will find a big change in terms of the cars used in this game. The time when this game actually started, only huge pick up trucks were used. These were very heavy in size but as the time passed, the vehicles changed. From pick up trucks to tractors to superchargers, all these changes occurred in just a little span of time. Now only the superchargers are used.

On the basis of the base or the tracks, mud drags can be divided into 3 parts. Firstly the open bog which is the normal one. Second is the hill track which is quite high. The third is the flat track which has got sand as the base.

Spending time at the mud drags is getting a large following with every passing month. It requires a high level of driving skill and quality truck equipment. Any truck that is used at the mud drags , features a powerful engine and an excellent four-wheel-drive system that powers the very large wheels and tires on a lift-kitted truck that tries to dominate a mud-filled trench.
